  • Race to the End of the Night

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:15/107
    Prizes:$137,228

There are just under 30 minutes to play in Level 15, the final level of Day 1a, and the field is down to 15 left. That puts them 4 players away from early bags so at this point it’s a race to see if the clock or the players run out first.

  • Final Two Tables

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:18/107
    Prizes:$137,228

They are down to 18 left in Day 1a of the Main Event now, putting them just 7 eliminations off an early end to the night. There are about 10 minutes to play in Level 14 with Level 15 as the final level of the evening no matter what.

  • Nine Off the Bags

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:20/107
    Prizes:$137,228

Thet are down to 20 players left with 10 minutes to play in Level 13. There are two more levels left in the night after this one, but they’ll bag early if the field gets to 11 before then.

  • Down to 28 Left

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:28/107
    Prizes:$137,228

They are down to 28 players left with just under 20 minutes left in Level 12. They’ll go for their final break of Day 1a following this level, then return for three more levels of poker, at most. They’ll bag up at the end of Level 15 or at 11 players, whichever comes first.

  • 107 Entries After Dinner

    Level:10 (800/1600/1600)
    Entries:43/107
    Prizes:$137,228

The numbers are still unofficial, but the entry period for Day 1a ended with 107 entries on the board for 1a prizes of $137,228. If that holds, it will mean that the play down to 11 players or the end of Level 15 tonight, whichever comes first. If both flights make it to 10%, then all players will be in the money on Day 2, but that’s not a guarantee.

  • Dinner Time

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:54/106
    Prizes:$135,945

The dinner break has just begun and there are 106 entries on the board to start the break. Entries for Day 1a will be closed when they return from the break for Level 10 in just over 40 minutes, but there is already $135,945 in the prize pool waiting for Day 2.

If there are no more entries over the break, it should mean the magic number for an early end to the night is 11 players.

  • Final Level of Entry for 1a with 100 Entries

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:57/100
    Prizes:$128,250

The 1a field just hit 100 players with about 35 minutes to play in Level 9. Entries are open throughout this level and the dinner break to follow, but the opening flight will close when they sit down for Level 10 at about 7:15 tonight. For players who bust tonight after the entries close, there is a PLO Bounty side game going on, and a second flight to the Main boarding tomorrow.

  • More than $100k in Prizes

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:63/83
    Prizes:$106,448

The 1a players are on their second break of the day, and when they return there will be three more levels of entry for today’s flight. The field is currently at 83 entries for total prizes of $106,448 and climbing.

At this pace, it seems likely that today’s field will end somewhere around 100 entries for prizes of around $125k from 1a.

  • $90k in Prizes

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:63/70
    Prizes:$91,058

The prizes are over $90k with about 20 minutes to play in Level 5. There are 71 entries on the board so far with 63 players still at the felt. Among the players I’ve spotted recently are Jo Teliani, Sena O’Reilly, Weston Pring, Stephen Dauphinais, Lapchi Duong, Deven Lane, Ali Razzaq, Brant Taylor, last night’s PLO winner Skyler York, Patricia Kananda (who was 3rd in Event #1), Ed Zurawell, Zeyu Huang (who was on the FT of the PLO last night), and satellite winners Toms Varghese and Jordan Banfield, who is looking for his 3rd win this series.

  • 10 Minutes to First Break

    Level:3 (200/300/300)
    Entries:52/56
    Prizes:$71,820

They are less than 10 minutes from the first break of Day 1a now with more than $70k in prizes and 56 entries so far today. Among the players I’ve spotted early today are Sunny Lubana, in for his first event this series, as well as Jason Tomei, DJ Sharma (who was on the final table of E9 yesterday), Skyler Edgar, Ronnie Dattani, and Mal Hagan.

  • Nearly $70k in Prizes

    Level:3 (200/300/300)
    Entries:53/53
    Prizes:$67,973

They are about 25 minutes from the first break of Day 1a today with 53 entries on the board. That puts the prizes at $67,973 and climbing. I’m expecting a similar field to what we saw in Event 9, and if that happens, if should see prizes of close to $300k for this one.

Entries are open for more than 5 hours on today’s flight and tomorrow hosts another full starting flight.

  • Main Event Time!

    Event:#12: $1,500 Superstack ($1,350 + $150)
    Dates:Day 1a: Nov 15, Noon
    Day 1b: Nov 16, Noon
    Day 2: Nov 17, Noon
    Blinds:40/60 Minutes
    Start Stack:30k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~7:15 PM)
Day 1 Ends:15 Levels or 10% of the Field (Max ~11:30 PM)

The Superstack Main Event is on deck with the opening flight starting on Friday at noon. Players get 30k in chips to start and they’ll play 40-minute levels on Day 1.

There are 9 levels to get into the game or rebuy, putting the final chance to enter at about 7:15 PM. There are 15 levels on the schedule for Day 1 and, if they go the distance, the bags are likely to come out around 11:30 PM. However, they may bag up early if the field plays down to 10% of the total.

Friday plays host to Day 1a, while Day 1b will run on Saturday. All the qualifying players will return on Sunday and, in theory, they should all be in the money assuming both Day 1s play down to 10% of the field. That isn’t a guarantee, however, so it’s possible they’ll return on Sunday with work to do before the money. Time, and poker, will tell.

This will be my main focus on Friday until the bags come out.

  • Balog Leads 1b Stacks

    Adam Balog

They played the full 15 levels and ended quite a few players above 10% in 1b. Adam Balog was the player with the biggest big today with more than 400k, but he’s still quite a bit behind the 1a leader Robbie Mosher. Stay tuned for a Day 2 post with seat assignments shortly.

  • Balog Still Leading

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:36/180 (48/287)
    Prizes:$230,850 ($368,078)

They are down to 36 players left with just over 30 minutes to play in Day 1b. It looks like Adam Balog is still the chip leader with 367k in front of him, but Shane Brotherwood also looks to be in the 300k club while Matthew Ouellette, Tyler Panas, and Raymond Trieu all look to be playing 200k or more.

  • 45 Players Left to Start Level 14

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:45/180 (58/287)
    Prizes:$230,850 ($368,078)

Level 14 has just begun and this is the penultimate level of Day 1b. The bags will come out no later than the end of Level 15, but they could come out earlier if they play down to 18 before then.

There are still 45 players in the action, however, and with less than 2 levels to play until the hard stop, it looks likely they’ll end today’s flight with more than 18 players.

  • 51 Players Remain; Nearly $85k to the Winner

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:51/180 (64/287)
    Prizes:$230,850 ($368,078)

There are just under 30 minutes to play in Level 13 with the hard stop for Day 1b coming at the end of Level 15. The numbers are now confirmed and the prizes are in. Full prizes are listed under the payouts tab, but the winner is set to take home nearly $85k at the end of Day 2 and 8 players will get a payout with 5 digits.

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:54/180 (67/287)
    Prizes:$230,850 ($368,078)

There are about 5 minutes to play in Level 12 with the final break of 1b to follow this level. They are down to 54 left so it looks like today’s flight could end with significantly more than 10% of the field still alive.

  • Balog and Yamagishi with Chips

    Level:10 (800/1600/1600)
    Entries:65/180 (78/287)
    Prizes:$230,850 ($368,078)

I’ve just had a wander around the room to look at stacks and it looks like Adam Balog is the player with the most chips right now. He’s sitting with a bit more than 300k, but Colten Yamagishi is also stacking chips with about 260k in front of him.

They’ll play tonight until the end of Level 15, or until there are 18 players left in the game, whichever comes first. The latest tonight should go is about 11:30 PM.

  • 180 Entries at End of Dinner

    Level:10 (800/1600/1600)
    Entries:72/180 (85/287)
    Prizes:$230,850 ($368,078)

The numbers are still unofficial, but it looks like they got an extra 10 entries over the dinner break for a 1b total of 180. That puts the two-day field at 287 for combined prizes of $368,078.

Once the Day 2 prizes are out I’ll confirm all the numbers, but it looks like the magic number for an early end tonight is 18 players, and 29 players will be getting paid on Day 2.

  • Just Over 30 Minutes to Enter the Main

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:81/170 (94/277)
    Prizes:$218,025 ($355,253)

The combined prizes are now over $355k with players on the dinner break and entries set to close when they sit down for Level 10 in about 35 minutes. The combined field is now 277 entries but there’s a good chance they’ll get a few more entries over the dinner break. Right now, it looks like at least 17 players will find a bag at the end of the night, but that could increase depending on registration activity during dinner.

  • More than $200k for 1b Prizes

    Level:8 (500/1000/1000)
    Entries:90/157 (103/264)
    Prizes:$201,353 ($338,580)

The 1b prizes just pushed above $200k with 157 entries so far today. That puts the combined total up to 264 for total prizes of almost $340k. Level 8 is halfway done with Level 9 as the final level of poker before the end of entries.

  • 150 1b Entries

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:99/150 (112/257)
    Prizes:$192,375 ($329,603)

There are still a bit more than 2 hours left to enter the final flight to the Main Event and the 1b field just hit 150 entries. That puts the two-day field at 257 for total prizes just shy of $330k. The 1b prizes alone are less than $8k away from $200k.

Level 7 is nearly complete with two more levels of poker to follow this one before the dinner break, and entries set to close at the end of the dinner break.

  • 141 1b Entries on Second Break

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:99/141 (112/248)
    Prizes:$180,833 ($318,060)

The 1b players are on their second break of the day now with 141 entries on the board for a two-day total of 248. That puts the combined prizes at almost $320k with 3 hours left to get into the game.

  • $300k in Prizes

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:101/127 (114/234)
    Prizes:$162,878 ($300,105)

There are about 10 minutes to play in Level 5 and the prize pool just hit $300k with 127 entries on 1b. Combined with 1a, that puts the total field at 234 entries right now with just under 4 hours left to enter.

Among the other players I’ve spotted today are Deven Lane, DJ Sharma, Ali Razzaq, Nicholas Peterson, Michael “Berny” Bernstein, Stephen Dauphinais, Rob Bridger, Curtis Singleton, Michael St. Pierre-Porter, Roman Brar, Tyler Panas, Andy Truong, Jackson Yang, Don Fujita, Colten Yamagishi, Malcolm Bolger, Thomas Taylor, Mike Malm, Shane Brotherwood, John Foley, Giulio Rosati, Graham Lupton, Brody Mickelson, Pete Fylyma, Bash Ramahi, Leo Zhang, and Sunny Lubana.

  • 1a Numbers Hit in Level 4

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:99/107 (112/214)
    Prizes:$137,228 ($274,455)

The 1b field has already met the total field from 1a with Level 4 about half finished. There are now 107 1b entries putting the combined total at 214 for nearly $275k in prizes. There are still a bit less than 5 hours to enter the game, so those numbers will only grow from here.

  • Pushing 100 Entries Before First Break

    Level:3 (200/300/300)
    Entries:90/95 (103/202)
    Prizes:$121,838 ($259,065)

They are just moments from the first break of the day now with the 1b field at 95 for a combined total of more than 200 now. That puts the combined prizes at nearly $260k with more than 5 hours left to enter today’s flight.

$300k in total prizes is still looking like a lock today, and there’s a good chance they’ll be flirting with $400k before entries close around 7:15 tonight.

Among the players in the action today is Johnny “WowWow” Yu, in town for his first event in the series, as well as Chris Clisby, Sean O’Reilly, Rock Kosterman (who was deep in the PLO Bounty last night), winner of the Aug WSOP-C Main Alex Liu, Matthew Ouellette, Paul Sokoloff, Mike Malm, Kali Shauli, Shannon Lazorko, Wendy Wenaas, Skyler Edgar, Shane Chief, and Zeyu “Skytrain” Huang. That’s far from a complete list, but it’s a start.

  • Final Flight to the Main Event Boarding on Saturday

    Event:#12: $1,500 Superstack ($1,350 + $150)
    Dates:Day 1a: Nov 15, Noon
    Day 1b: Nov 16, Noon
    Day 2: Nov 17, Noon
    Blinds:40/60 Minutes
    Start Stack:30k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~7:15 PM)
Day 1 Ends:15 Levels or 10% of the Field (Max ~11:30 PM)
    Entries:107
    Prizes:$137,228

Day 1a was a pretty big day with 107 entries by the time they finished dinner at about 7:15. A bit more than four hours later, there were 13 players putting chips in a bag, 2 more than the 10% number that would have ended the day earlier.

That means that unless something radical happens at the end of Day 1b, Day 2 will NOT be in the money. However Day 1b plays out, the player they’ll all be chasing is Robbie Mosher from Nova Scotia. He bagged a massive stack of 633k, more than 200k more than second place Senthuran Vijayaratnam. As the bags came out, one of his tablemates jokingly asked if he needed a second bag.

Day 1b is the final chance for players to get into Day 2 on Sunday. There is already almost $140k in the prize pool from the 107 1a entries, so it seems like a lock for the game to crush $300k by the time entries close on 1b. They only need 127 entries, an extra 20 over the 1a total, to push past the $300k mark.

Day 1b action gets going at noon on Saturday as a replay of Day 1a. There are 9 levels of late entry and 15 levels on the Day 1 schedule. Levels are 40 minutes in length for Day 1 play.

I will likely be late to the floor for Saturday’s flight as Friday night was a bit of a late one.

  • Daniel Lefebvre Wins the Fall Super Stack Main Event for $79,425

Daniel Lefebvre, winner of the 2024 Fall Super Stack Main Event

Daniel Lefebvre’s trick lately has been winning High Roller tournaments, but he switched it up tonight with the Main Event win. He was a big stack for most of the final table, but was overshadowed by Robbie Mosher for most of it as Mosher held the lead and Lefebvre was a solid second.

That stayed pretty consistent as they made their way through the other 8 players at the final table, including some tough competition like Mike Malm, Tyler Panas, Day 1b chip leader Adam Balog, and 3rd place finisher Sean O’Reilly, not to mention Matthew Ouellette and Shane Brotherwood.

When they got heads up, they cut a deal that saw Lefebvre secure $72,425 while Mosher guaranteed himself $60,442. That left $7k on the table to play for, which went to Lefebvre for a total of $79,425.

Lefebvre first burst onto the scene in 2017 with a win at the SIGA Championships on Dakota Dunes First Nation near Saskatoon but recently he’s been crushing Alberta High Rollers with three in a row last year and another one last month. This will be his biggest lifetime score so far and will put him over $375k in lifetime earnings on Hendon Mob.

  • Robbie Mosher Out in 2nd Place for $72,425

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:1/287
    Prizes:$368,078

Once the final two players made a deal, it sped things up quite a bit. While Daniel Lefebvre was the short stack when they struck the deal, he quickly flipped that around to take the lead, putting Mosher on his heels.

The final confrontation saw Lefebvre’s two-pair best the flopped ace for Mosher. Mosher raised to 165k and Lefebvre called to see AQ8 on the flop. Lefebvre check-called for 150k to the 7 turn. Lefebvre checked again, but raised to 800k when Mosher fired 300k.

Mosher shoved and Lefebvre snapped it off with queen-seven for the turned two pair against ace-three for Mosher. The river didn’t help him and it was all over. Mosher secured $72,425 in the deal.

  • Lefebvre to the Lead

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:2/287
    Prizes:$368,078

Shortky after they made the deal, the lead has flipped and Lefebvre is up to around 6 million. He got some of those chips in a hand where Robbie Mosher raised to 165k from the button and Lefebvre called.

They both checked the 447 flop but Lefebvre led for 300k on the 6 turn. Mosher called, but mucked when Lefebvre bet 500k on the K river. Lefebvre now has about 3/4 of the chips in play.

  • Deal Time

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:2/287
    Prizes:$368,078

The final two players decided to make a deal. Robbie Mosher has the big stack so he secured $72,424.81 to Daniel Lefebvre’s $60,442.19 with $7k left on the table to play for.

  • Sean O’Reilly Out in 3rd Place for $36,808

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:2/287
    Prizes:$368,078
    Sean O’Reilly

They are heads up now after Sean O’Reilly busted out in 3rd place. I missed the action as I was out of the room at the time.

  • Kip Howard Out in 4th Place for $29,446

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:3/287
    Prizes:$368,078
    Kip Howard

Kip Howard has been the short stack, or close to it, most of the night. He’s been getting it in regularly and mostly getting his shoves through to tread water and stay alive while laddering to 4th place. His luck finally ran out when he shoved his big blind over a raise from button Daniel Lefebvre. Lefebvre called with pocket eights against Q10.

Howard flopped a ten, but Lefebvre went running eights for quads. “At least you went out in style,” joked Sean O’Reilly as Howard headed to collect his money.

  • Tyler Panas Out in 5th Place for $22,085

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:4/287
    Prizes:$368,078
    Tyler Panas

Robbie Mosher is back in the lead after take three straight hands from Tyler Panas with the third one sending Panas to the cage in 5th place. In the first, Mosher raised to 150k under the gun, the shoved when Panas reraised him to 305k. Panas mucked and they moved onto the next hand with Mosher in the big blind.

Panas raised to 165k under the gun and Mosher called. They both checked the 7JJ flop and Mosher led for 200k on the 6 turn. Panas called and they both checked the J river. Mosher’s pocket 9’s were best as Panas mucked his hand.
