The World Series of Poker organizers have officially announced that they are bringing back the live WSOP event and $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World …
The World Series of Poker organizers have officially announced that they are bringing back the live WSOP event and $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship Main Event in 2021.
As it was rumoured at the start of March, The world-famous tournament series will be back in person at Rio Las Vegas hotel-casino in the fall, pending applicable state and/or regulatory approvals., according to Caesars Entertainment. And cards are expected to be in the air for a diverse calendar of events beginning September 30th with all play concluding on November 23rd.
The schedule for the fall series has not yet been released, but officials did reveal that the opening weekend is expected to feature a special charity event to benefit frontline health workers, a $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. and a $5 million guaranteed no-limit hold’em event billed as “The Reunion.”
As for the $10,000 Main Event, it is expected to begin on Nov. 4 and run through Nov. 17. Players will have their choice of four starting days.
Players participating on Thursday or Friday will have their Day 2 on Nov. 8 if they survive the first day with chips. Those selecting Saturday or Sunday for an opening flight will play their Day 2 on Nov. 9, with the fields combining on Nov. 10.
Specific COVID-19 protocols are expected but not yet determined. WSOP officials will work with gaming regulators and state officials to ensure player safety.
While a live series is back in the cards this year, the success of the 2020 WSOP Online has led organizers to continue that new tradition in 2021. As with last year’s offering, the 2021 WSOP Online will offer a full slate of gold bracelet events throughout the summer. The events will be split between GG (Betkings, GGPoker, Natural8, 2bet4win) and WSOP.com. The full schedule for the WSOP Online series is expected to be released on April 15.
In addition to the live WSOP in Las Vegas and the online series in the summer, the WSOP Europe is also expected to return in 2021. The King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic is set to once again play host, with a 15-bracelet-event schedule that will run from November 19 and through December 8.
