The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) is heading north, transitioning from the vibrant atmosphere of Blackpool to the historic and picturesque city of Edinburgh for the fourth leg of its 2024 season. With its stunning architecture and rich cultural heritage, Edinburgh provides a perfect backdrop for this poker event, promising another exciting event in the UK poker calendar.
Scheduled to run from April 3 to 14, GUKPT Edinburgh features ten numbered events that cater to a wide range of poker players. The spotlight will be on the Main Event, boasting a £1,000 buy-in that draws both seasoned pros and ambitious enthusiast who want to etch their name in the UK’s poker history.
The Main Event will offer players two regular starting flights on Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12, with a Turbo 1C flight rounding the day on Friday. A new champion will be crowned on Sunday, and fans can follow every moment in the final stretch on the Grosvenor Poker YouTube channel.
Last year’s GUKPT Edinburgh saw Scottish superstar Ludovic Geilich secure his first GUKPT Main Event title, pocketing £79,590 after outlasting a field of 366 entrants. His second win came just a few weeks ago in the Blackpool series.

Calogero Morreale Tops the 2024 NPL Leaderboard
As the 2024 National Poker League progresses with about a third of its season concluded, Calogero Morreale has emerged at the forefront of the leaderboard again, eyeing the £75,000 Sponsorship Package. Morreale, the reigning 2023 Grosvenor Player of the Year, is on the path to securing a first back-to-back win. His remarkable performance this season includes five wins and cash in every GUKPT Leg, solidifying his top position.
However, his competitors will have a chance to catch up with him, as Morreale plans to take some time off from poker, as he and his girlfriend Jennifer are expecting their first child in April. Among those who can challenge Morreale’s lead are Callum Gordon, who finished second to Geilich in the GUKPT Blackpool Main Event, and Matthew Davenport, the 2022 GUKPT Player of the Year.
