As the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) 2024 season continues its journey across the United Kingdom, the action moves from the historic charms of Edinburgh to the vibrant buzz of Luton. The fifth leg of this year’s tour is set to unfold in Luton, bringing the same excitement and competitive spirit that players have come to expect and relish.
Scheduled to run from April 25 to May 5, the GUKPT Luton promises a full slate of events tailored to suit a variety of poker enthusiasts. The series will commence with the Midi Main Event, carrying a £560 buy-in, designed to set the stage for the bigger events to come.
Midi event is merely a prelude to the festival’s centerpiece, the £1,250 Main Event. Starting with day 1A on Thursday, May 2, and continuing with two additional starting days on Friday, the players will come together for Day 2 on Saturday, all leading up to the crowning of a new champion on Sunday, May 5.

Last year’s Main Event saw Christopher Day emerge victorious. He navigated through a field of 331 entries to claim the top prize of £88,150 as he triumphed over Jaime Le in a heads-up battle. This win still marks his biggest career result so far.
Luton Side Event Action
Beyond the Midi and Main Event, the GUKPT Luton lineup includes ten other numbered events, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. The £200 Opener also takes place on the opening day, providing an early opportunity for players to dive into the action. Another highlight of the series is the £550 GUKPT Cup, which is perhaps the second most popular event on the schedule, taking place from May 4 to 5.
Two events are offered for those who prefer the dynamic Pot Limit Omaha: the £250 PLO 4 Card and the £330 PLO 4/5/6. High rollers have not been forgotten, and a two-day £1,650 High Roller event provides an opportunity to battle it out for potentially huge paydays.
