The Rio, home to the World Series of Poker since 2005, will soon be rebranded under the Hyatt Hotels brand. The whole property will be renewed and remodeled, which will please poker fans from all over the world, that complained about the current status of the Casino. The property was sold in 2019, and until now there were speculations on what will be the next move for the Casino.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced on Thursday that it had entered into a franchise agreement with Dreamscape Companies LLC, the owner of the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino.
The agreement will renovate the former Caesars property, and turn it into multiple Hyatt hotel towers. The redevelopment will include more than 2,510 rooms at the Rio, the gaming floor, retail options, food and beverage locations, spa and fitness, and more. The resort opened in 1990 and in 2005, the WSOP moved from Binion’s Horseshoe Casino to Rio.
The 2020 WSOP was hosted online due to the pandemic, but there are some speculations starting that WSOP might happen live this year. Regardless if the rumors are true or not, the 52nd WSOP series will still definitely award a Main Event champion this year whether it be via live or online or a mix of both.
