  • Ryan Comely Wins PLO Big Bounty for $7,532 plus 8 Bounties

Ryan Comely, Winner of PLO Big Bounty

The PLO Bounty game is now over with Ryan Comely emerging as the big winner. He defeated fellow Edmontonian Kris Steinbach after a lengthy heads-up battle that saw the lead flip between each player a couple of times.

One huge turning point for Comely came in a hand where he put Steiner to the test for all his chips on the river of a wrapped board. Steinbach tanked for a long time before mucking his hand, showing the low end of a straight. After Steiner folded, Comely showed two-pair for a well-executed bluff.

Comely is no stranger to winning at poker, He has more than $700k in winnings and almost a full page of wins on his Hendon Mob page. This was his second PPT trophy after he picked up a Mystery Bounty win last year on the Tour.

  • Kris Steinbach Out in 2nd Place for

    Level:22 (15,000/25,000/25,000)

    Kris Steinbach

It was a loud but friendly battle between Ryan Comely and Kris Steonbach in the end, though to be fair, it was Steiner doing most of the talking. The two friends battled heads up for more than a level and the lead changed back and forth a few times.

One big turning point came when Steinbach was forced off a baby straight by Comely in a huge pot, and it didn’t take too long after that before it all went in.

The final showdown was AK82 for Comely against Q1086 for Steinbach. Comely flopped two pair A5256 board and that was good to take it all down for the win.

  • Steiner Folds Straight After Massive Tank

    Level:22 (15,000/25,000/25,000)
    Entries:2/55
    Prizes:$31,350 ($20,350 prizes, $11,000 bounties)

It was a long hand that saw Kris Steinbach tank for around 8 minutes on the turn, and another five minutes on the river before mucking his hand. I picked up the action on the turn with the board reading [invalid notations] when Ryan Comely check-potted over a 40k bet from Steiner.

Steiner made the call after a huge tank, but then hit the tank again when Comely potted the 10 river, enough to put Steinbach all in. After about five minutes of “Steiner talk” he elected to much, showing a baby straight with five-six. Comely showed a seven-eight for two pair while collecting the pot.

  • Queens Hold for Comely

    Level:21 (10,000/20,000/20,000)
    Entries:2/55
    Prizes:$31,350 ($20,350 prizes, $11,000 bounties)

Kris Steinbach limp-called when Ryan Comely potted preflop. It all kicked off on the 3910 flop when Comely potted and Steiner repotted to put Comely all in.

“I have a monster wrap,” Steinbach said as Comely called his stack off. Steiner had six-seven-eight-jack, but he bricked out the rest of the board to leave Comely’s queens the best hand.

  • “Can You Beat Nine-High?” “I Cannot.”

    Entries:2/55
    Prizes:$31,350 ($20,350 prizes, $11,000 bounties)

There wasn’t a lot of action after they both limped preflop and then checked down the 8A101010 board.

“Can you beat nine-high?” asked Kris Steinbach.

“I cannot,” replied Ryan Comely with a smile, giving Smith the small pot with just nine-high.

  • Steiner Doubles to Lead

    Entries:2/55
    Prizes:$31,350 ($20,350 prizes, $11,000 bounties)

It was all in before the flop when Kris Steinbach and Ryan Comely got into a potting war. Steinbach was on AAQ2 against 9864. Comely flopped a gutshot on the K32K4 board but the aces held for a huge double for Steinbach, who now has about 1.3 million of the 1.65 million in play.

The final two players are taking a quick bathroom break with Ryan Comely in the lead with 1.04 million to 646k for Kris Steinbach.

    Entries:2/55
    Prizes:$31,350 ($20,350 prizes, $11,000 bounties)

The board was out to the turn when I arrived at the table reading 5810Q and Kris Steinbach fired 100k. Ryan Comely came over the top with a pot to 464k.

That sent Steinbach deep into the tank. “I have a monster,” he said, counting out the call, but leaving it behind the line. He finally decided to muck his hand saying he had jack-nine for the straight.

The hand left both players sitting on about 800k.

  • Ryan Smith Out in 3rd Place for

    Level:19 (6,000/12,000/12,000)
    Entries:2/55
    Prizes:$31,350 ($20,350 prizes, $11,000 bounties)
    Ryan Smith

They are down to heads up now after Ryan Smith took third place tonight. I missed the action while in the bathroom, but Kris Steinbach was seen stacking Rybo’s chips. Steiner reported that as he busted Rybo he needled him with “That’s what you get for not inviting us to your wedding!”

  • Steiner Takes from Rybo

    Entries:3/55
    Prizes:$31,350 ($20,350 prizes, $11,000 bounties)

Ryan Smith raised the button to 30k and small blind Kris Steinbach came along to the A105 flop. Both players checked to the 9 turn where Steinbach fired 20k.

Snith called to see A on the river. Steinbach made it 40k to go, and after some time in the tank, Rybo called it off but mucked when Steoback showed ace-six-five-three for flopped two pair and the riverboat.

  • Smith Takes Battle of the Ryans

It was a battle between the Ryans when Ryan Comely potted from the small blind and Ryan Smith called from the big. Comely potted again on the 462 flop and Smith called off the rest of his stack.

    Ryan Smith: QJ74
    Ryan Comely: AKQ2

Smith was ahead with a pair of fours against the pair of deuces for Comely but Comely was drawing to clubs. The 8 turn gave Smith a straight draw as well, and the 5 river gave him the straight for the win and the double.

  • Colten Yamagish Out in 4th Place for $2,136

    Colten Yamagishi

Kris Steinbach us running pure tonight after he flopped a set of jacks to send short-stack Colten Yamagish to the rail. Yamagishi flopped a king but it was no good against the set and he hit the rail in 4th.

  • Steinbach Flops It

    Entries:4/55
    Prizes:$31,350 ($20,350 prizes, $11,000 bounties)

Ryan Comely raised Kris Steinbach’s limp to 35k, and he made the call. The flop was 547 and Stenbach check-called for 35k. Steinbach checked again on the 8 turn, but elected to come over the top to 300k when Comely bet 100k. Comely hit the tank for a bit before getting rid of his hand, and Steiner showed and eight-six for the flopped straight.

  • Shariq Khan Out in 5th Place for $1,424

    Level:17 (4,000/8,000/8,000)

    Shariq Khan

Shariq Khan was the short stack and he potted from the cutoff to 26k, leaving himself just 1k behind. Ryan Comely repotted from the button and after the rest of the table folded, Khan put in his last chip.

    Shariq Khan: KQ96
    Ryan Comely: AAJ7

Comely was way ahead with his aces and he flopped a set to take it down and send Khan to the cage for 5th place.

    Nicholas Milkovich

They are down to five now after Nicholas Milkovich hit the rail in 6th place. He raised early to 28k, then called off the rest of his stack when big stack Kris Steinbach potted.

    Nicholas Milkovich: QQJ6
    Kris Steinbach: K1098

Milkovich was ahead preflop, but once the 710529 board was complete, Steiner’s two pair was best.

Milkovich mucked his hand, but Worton raised to put Comely all in, and he called it off with KK106 against the low wrap for Worton with [7h5h4s2s]. Worton flopped the wheel draw and turned it for the win. That puts them on the final table bubble, but they are still 4 off the money spots.
