Level: 15 (2,500/5,000/5,000) Entries: 13/93 Prizes: $87,467 Day ia is complete with 13 players advancing to Day 2 on Sunday. The biggest bag belonged to the winner of the NLH/PLO Mix earlier this week, Daniel Hicks, with 385.5k for the money day. Willie Santos, Victor Xie, and DJ Sharma also bagged 300l+ stacks while Seniors champ Kim Graham rounds out the top 5 with 265k.
Full chip stacks are posted below, but Day 2 seat assignments won’t be available until Day 1b finishes tomorrow night.

Hand for Hand to the Bags
Level: 14 (2,000/4,000/4,000) Entries: 14/93 Prizes: $87,467 They are hand for hand now with the clock paused as they are one elimination away from the bags. They are currently playing the final hand of Level 14 so it looks likely they’ll bring out the bags before the next break.
-
Three Off the Bags
Level: 14 (2,000/4,000/4,000) Entries: 16/93 Prizes: $87,467 They are down to 16 left in Day 1a with about half of Level 14 complete. That puts them just three players off the end of the opening flight to the Main.
-
Final Two Tables
Level: 13 (1,500/3,000/3,000) Entries: 18/93 Prizes: $87,467 They are down to 18 players left on the final two tables now with just under 5 minutes to play in Level 13. That puts them five eliminations away from the bags, so it’s an open question now whether they’ll make the next break following Level 15 or not. Even if they do, it’s unlikely they’ll play much later than Level 16 tonight.

10 Off the Bags
Level: 12 (1,500/2,500/2,500) Entries: 23/93 Prizes: $87,467 There are about 25 minutes left in Level 12 and there is a break scheduled following this level. The field is now down to 23 remaining, just 10 eliminations off the end of the night. I’ll have a look around at the break and grab chip counts for the remaining players.
-
Final Three Tables
Level: 11 (1,000/2,000/2,000) Entries: 27/93 Prizes: $87,467 They are down to 27 left in Day 1a of the Main Event now with about 5 minutes to play in Level 11. That means they are just 14 players away from the end of the day.
-
Final Four Tables
Level: 11 (1,000/2,000/2,000) Entries: 36/93 Prizes: $87,467 They are down to 36 players on the final four tables now as Level 11 is just getting underway. They’ll be playing down to 13 players left before the bags come out, so there’s still a few more hours of poker in the night.
-
93 Entries at Close of Entry
Level: 10 (1,000/1,500/1,500) Entries: 38/93 Prizes: $87,467 Entries closed after dinner with 93 on the board. That should mean a total of 13 bags at the end of the night tonight. Just as a reminder, Day 1 play will continue until the field is at 12.5% + 1 of the starting field, so they’ll play down to 13 tonight no matter how long it takes.
-
Some Big Stacks from Dinner
Level: 10 (1,000/1,500/1,500) Entries: 41/91 Prizes: $85,586 There are still about five minutes left in the dinner break, but I had a look around the room while the players were away, and it looks like DJ Sharma is the chip leader right now. He’s playing 253k but Willie Santos is also in the 200k range with 210.5k. Sharnark Mohamed is playing 127k.
-
25 Minutes to Enter 1a
Level: 9 (600/1,200/1,200) Entries: 40/90 Prizes: $84,645 There are about 25 minutes left in the dinner break, and when they return it will be the end of entries. The prize pool now is just shy of $85k with 90 entries on the board but there’s still time to add a few more entries to the pool.
-
One Hour to Enter 1a
Level: 9 (600/1,200/1,200) Entries: 40/88 Prizes: $82,764 There are about 15 minutes to play in Level 9, and that means the end of entries is about an hour away. They’ll head out for a 45-minute dinner break following this level and when they return for Level 10 at about 7:15, entries will be closed.
-
2 Hours to Enter 1a
Level: 8 (500/1,000/1,000) Entries: 46/82 Prizes: $77,121 The prize pool is now over $75k at the start of Level 8 with 82 entries on the board for Day 1a That means the end of entries is about 2 hours away, though players will still have a second shot at a bag on Saturday’s Day 1b.
-
More than $65k in Prizes at Second Break
Level: 7 (400/800/800) Entries: 46/73 Prizes: $68,657 There was a bit of a rush on entries during Level 6 with 13 new entries over the level. That puts the field so far at 73 entries with 46 players still playing and prizes now approaching $70k. There are still just under 3 hours left to get into today’s flight.
-
Almst $60k in Prizes
Level: 6 (300/600/600) Entries: 43/63 Prizes: $59,252 They are now one entry shy of $60k in prizes with 63 entries on the board about halfway through Level 6. There are still 43 players at the felt including Johnny Dalphind and Leonard Siebenga.
-
Nearing 60 Entries
Level: 5 (300/500/500) Entries: 45/59 Prizes: $55,490 The prizes are now over $55k with 59 entries on the board for Day 1a. A few more people in the field today include Daniel Lefebvre, Sheraz Nasir, Preston Stevenson, Brian Wells (who was runner-up in the side game yesterday), Gerald Chung, DJ Sharma, Ross Wilson, Jimmy Lee, Pav Braich, and Michael St. Pierre-Porter.
-
$50k in Prizes
Level: 4 (200/400/400) Entries: 45/55 Prizes: $51,728 The prize pool is now over $50k with 55 entries on the board. There are about 10 minutes to play in Level 4 with entries still open on today’s flight for more than four hours. Kris Steinbach, who was runner-up in the PLO yesterday, is among the newer faces I spotted in the field, along with Benny Sarnelli and the winner of the first two Main Events this year, Eric Wasylenko.
-
Back from Break
Level: 4 (200/400/400) Entries: 39/47 Prizes: $44,204 They are closing in on 50 entries for today’s flight so far with 47 entries on the board now. Other players I’ve noticed in the mix today include the most recent Main Event winner Michael “Berny” Bernstein, Seniors champ Kim Graham, Rob Limpert, Deven Lane, and Nick Milkovich.
-
First Break Approaching
Level: 3 (200/300/300) Entries: 38/45 Prizes: $42,323 After a late night on Thursday, I was a bit late to the game today, but I’m here now with Level 3 ticking down and the first break approaching. There are 45 entries on the board no for prizes of more than $42k. Among the players I spotted as I came in are Malcolm Bolger, Brett Worton, Kyle Bonnazo, Tony Comely, Weston Pring, Jolnar Teliani, Lynne Stephenson, Ryan Comely, and the summer Main Event winner Ryan Cairns.

Day 1 play continues until players are in the money at 12.5% of the starting field so there is no hard stop on the Day 1 flights anymore. Further, players can play and bag in both flights, with the smallest bag earning a min-cash on Day 2 while the player plays the bigger stack as deep as they can.

Tim Arnold Leads the Way to Day 2
Level: 17 (4,000/8,000/8,000) Entries: 18/133 (31/226) Prizes: $212,553 Day 1b was a bit of a marathon, finishing with 26:35 remaining in Level 17, a full two levels later than Day 1a. Tim Arnold emerged as the big stack from 1b, and his 650k will also be the big stack for Day 2, surging past the 1a leader Daniel Hicks.
Below is a look at the 1b qualifiers, and stay tuned for the combined Day 2 field and seat assignments coming shortly under the Day 2 tab.

Arnold with More than 500k
Level: 15 (2,500/5,000/5,000) Entries: 23/133 (36/226) Prizes: $212,553 There is one monster stack out there at the moment in front of Tim Arnold. He is playing more than 500k right now, and from an eyeball of the other stacks, it doesn’t look like anyone else has more than 300k at the moment. There are now 25 minutes left in Level 15 with he field down to 23.
-
Action Slowing
Level: 15 (2,500/5,000/5,000) Entries: 24/133 (37/226) Prizes: $212,553 The action is slowing a bit as they approach the end of the night. There are still 24 players left alive with about 30 minutes to play in Level 15, so it’s looking increasingly likely they’ll have at least one more break tonight.
-
24 Players Remain
Level: 14 (2,000/4,000/4,000) Entries: 24/133 (37/226) Prizes: $212,553 There are about 10 minutes remaining in Level 14 with the field down to 24. That puts them 6 players off the end of the night, so it’s an open question if they’ll make it to the next break.
-
Down to Three Table
Level: 13 (1,500/3,000/3,000) Entries: 27/133 (40/226) Prizes: $212,553 Things are moving quickly in 1b so far with the field now down to 27 players left. That puts them nine eliminations away from the bags coming out to end the night with less than 5 minutes left in Level 13.
-
Down to 29
Level: 13 (1,500/3,000/3,000) Entries: 29/133 (42/226) Prizes: $212,553 They are down to 29 left now with 15 minutes to play in Level 13 and among the players still alive are all the big stacks I previously reported, as well as Paul Brar, Daniel Lefebvre, Ian Alvarado, Andy Wong, Lapchi Duong, Julius Roque, Ed Zurawell, Kyle Hartree, Deven Lane (who won the Turbo last night), Ron Lauzon, Kris Steinbach, Leo Zhang, Colten Yamagishi, Pete Fylyma, Holly Berry, Cliff Green, and Daniel O’Leary.
-
15 Off the Bags
Level: 13 (1,500/3,000/3,000) Entries: 33/133 (46/226) Prizes: $212,553 They are dow to 33 players left in 1b now with the bags set to come out with 18 left. That leaves just 15 eliminations until Day 1b is complete and the Day 2 field is set.
-
Jay Tran Leads The Way
Level: 13 (1,500/3,000/3,000) Entries: 35/133 (48/226) Prizes: $212,553 The players are just about to return from the break and I’ve had a look around at a few stacks. It looks like Sep 2023 Main Event winner Jay Tran has the big stack right now with 246k but Cindy Grabia also has a 200k+ stack in front of her. Jayvee Lumahan, who was third in the Main that Tran won, has 173k while Preston Stevenson is playing 169k.
-
Down to 41
Level: 12 (1,500/2,500/2,500) Entries: 41/133 (54/226) Prizes: $212,553 There are 41 players left in 1b now with 30 minutes to play in Level 12. There is a break following this level and I’ll have a look around then for some big stacks to see who is challenging Day 1a leader Daniel Hicks.
-
133 Entries Confirmed; Almost $40k for 1st
Level: 11 (1,000/2,000/2,000) Entries: 46/133 (59/226) Prizes: $212,553 The prizes are in and the 1b field is confirmed at 133 entries for a combined total of 226. That puts $212,553 into the prize pool for Day 2 with the winner set to pocket $39,210. Full prizes are listed under the Payouts tab.
-
Entries Closed with 133 Unofficial
Level: 10 (1,000/1,500/1,500) Entries: 63/133 (76/226) Prizes: $212,553 The players are back in their seats for Level 10 which means entries are now closed for this Main Event. The final number on the board (still awaiting verification) is 133 entries for 1b for a two-day total of 226.
If these numbers hold, it should mean 18 players bag tonight for 31 returning on Sunday’s Day 2 to battle for $212,553 in prizes. I’ll confirm all the numbers shortly when the prizes are posted.
-
20 Minutes to Enter the Main
Level: 9 (600/1,200/1,200) Entries: 61/130 (74/223) Prizes: $209,732 There are about 20 minutes left to enter the Main Event and the combined prizes are one entry shy of $210k right now. There are 130 entries on the board today for a combined total of 223 but it seems likely we’ll see a couple more entries just before they sit down for Level 10 in 20 minutes.
-
Just Under an Hour to Enter with $200k in Prizes
Level: 9 (600/1,200/1,200) Entries: 59/122 (73/215) Prizes: $202,208 The prize pool just capped $200k with 122 entries on the board now for 1b. That puts the combined total at 215 across both starting days, but there is still just under an hour left in late registration, so it’s likely the numbers will still climb a bit before the final numbers are in.
-
$190k in Prizes
Level: 8 (500/1,000/1,000) Entries: 66/111 (79/204) Prizes: $191,862 The combined prizes are now over $190k with 111 entries on the board for Day 1b and 204 in total across both days. There are just over 10 minutes to play in Level 8 which means entries for the Main Event close in just over 90 minutes.
-
Just over 2 Hours to Enter
Level: 8 (500/1,000/1,000) Entries: 67/104 (80/197) Prizes: $185,279 They are now three entries away from a combined field of 200 entries right now with 104 registered for 1b so far. That puts the combined prizes at more than $185k with just over 2 hours left to get into this Main Event.
-
Break #2
Level: 7 (400/800/800) Entries: 67/96 (80/189) Prizes: $177,755 The 1b players are out for their second break of the day now with the end of Level 6. They’ll be back in action at 400/800/800 in about 10 minutes with 2 hours and 45 minutes left to enter this Main Event. That time includes three levels of poker as well as a 45-minute dinner break, with entries set to close at about 7:15 pm.
-
1b Matches 1a in Level 6
Level: 6 (300/600/600) Entries: 68/93 (81/186) Prizes: $174,933 The combined prizes are now just shy of $175k with 93 entries on the board for 1b. That matches the 1a total with more than 3 hours left to enter, so a total field of 200+ with $200k+ in prizes seems like a lock at this point, but the final totals remain to be seen.
Players will be on a break at the end of this level, and when they return for Level 7 there well be three more levels of poker to play before entries close for good on this Main Event.
-
$170k in Prizes
Level: 5 (300/500/500) Entries: 67/88 (80/181) Prizes: $170,231 The combined prize pool has just hit $170k with the entry of Francis Fan for 88 entries so far today. Among the other faces I’ve noticed in the action today are Alex Polkovsky, Geordi Lobe, Leo Brouwer, Justin Pennell, Bash Ramahi, Pete Fylyma, Taran Parmar, Daniel O’Leary, Jolnar Teliani, Myles Budd, and Nohad Teliani, as well as a couple of Main Event champs in Eric Wasylenko (Feb/Apr) and Michael “Berny” Bernstein (Sep).
-
More than $150k
Level: 4 (200/400/400) Entries: 62/70 (75/163) Prizes: $153,302 The first break is over and the players are back in their seats for Level 4 with 70 entries on the board for today’s flight. That puts the two0day total over 160 entries for combined prizes of $153k.
A few of the new faces I spotted on the break include Curtis Singleton, Dylan Descheneaux, Quentin Sifflendeen, and Mo Alemalhuda.
-
Kevin Lee Wins Main Event
Kevin Lee brought the big stack into Day 3 and when they started talking deal just before the action began today, he secured the biggest guaranteed payout of $24,768. They left a bit more than $11k on the table, along with the trophy, to play for so Lee picked up $35,804 for his win today.
This was Lee’s second recorded win according to Hendon Mob, with his previous win coming in 2015 at the PlayNow Poker Championships in Winnipeg. This will slot in at #3 for his biggest cashes, behind that win and a $66k (USD) 2nd place finish in the Phamous Poker Series at Goliath, Las Vegas and should put his lifetime earnings very close to the $200k mark, if not over, once the exchange rate is factored in.
-
Kim Graham Out in 2nd Place for $20,000
Level: 27 (40,000/80,000/80,000) Entries: 1/226 Prizes: $212,553 It was a spirited battle heads up, but in the end, Kim Graham couldn’t find the cards he needed to stay alive. Kevin Lee raised the button, then called off with more when Graham shoved.
“Oh Oh,” Graham said when Lee called it off with pocket tens. Graham was playing nine-eight off-suit and he flopped a nine to give him some hope. The rest of board ran out paired sevens though and the tens held for the big win for Lee.
Graham had a pretty good week here, however, winning the Seniors event at the start of the series, and taking the second spot in the Main. He secured $20k in the deal at the start of today.
-
Roughly Even
Level: 27 (40000/80,000/80,000) Entries: 2/226 Prizes: $212,553 They’ve been trading chips back and forth heads up for most of this level, with a small lead moving back and forth between the players, but they are till roughly even with about 25 minutes left in Level 27.
-
Graham to the Lead
Level: 27 (40,000/80,000/80,000) Entries: 2/226 Prizes: $212,553 Kevin Lee raised to 190k, then called with more when Kim Graham shoved. Lee had pocket queens against king-ten for Graham.
Graham called for the king, but got a ten on the flop instead. It was the ten on the turn that sealed the deal for him as he improved to trips and the river bricked for Lee. Graham now has a bit more than 4 million with 6.8 million in play.
-
Lee Leads Heads Up
Level: 26 (30,000/60,000/60,000) Entries: 2/226 Prizes: $212,553 Kevin Lee has the lead two ways now with 4.23 million to Kim Graham’s 2.46 million. They are now on a break with action expected to resume in about 12 minutes with blinds at 40k/80k/80k.
-
Ed Zurawell Out in 3rd Place for $21,799
Level: 26 (30,000/60,000/60,000) Entries: 2/226 Prizes: $212,553 They are heads up now after Ed Zurawell couldn’t find his outs with ace-seven into pocket eights for Kevin Lee. Zurawell hit his seven on the river, but that also gave the pockets eights a straight and the win.
-
Johnny Dalphond Out in 4th Place for $20,910
Level: 26 (30,000/60,000/60,000) Entries: 3/226 Prizes: $212,553 It was a two-outer that sent Johnny Dalphond out in 4th after he raised the small blind with jacks and then called when Kim Graham shoved the big with more. Graham was on pocket deuces against jacks for Dalphond and the board looked clean for Dalphond until the duck on the river sent him to the cage. He made $20,910 from the ICM deal.
-
Graham Races to Double; Dalphond Triples
Level: 26 (30,000/60,000/60,000) Entries: 4/226 Prizes: $212,553 Kim Graham just found a double when he shoved all in under the gun and big blind Johnny Dalphond called him off with a bit more. It was a race between K♣Q♠ for Graham and red pocket nines for Dalphond.
It was a classic race, but not quite a classic runout as Graham ended up with a spade flush on an all-spade board even after Dalphond flopped a set of nines.
Shortly after, Dalphond got his short stack of 570k in three ways with pocket queens, and ran into ace-eight for Graham, and ace-king for Ed Zurawell. The queens held on a low board and Dalphond is back in the game.
-
The Deal is Done
Level: 26 (30,000/60,000/60,000) Entries: 4/226 Prizes: $212,553 The final four player smoothed out the money a bit with an ICM deal. Kevin Lee was the chip leader at the end of the night last night, so he is guaranteed $24,768. Ed Zurawell is assured at least $21,799, Johnny Dalphond will make $20,910, while Kim Graham is guaranteed $20k exactly. That leaves $11,038 on the table, along with the trophy and the title, to fight for.
-
ICM Deal Talks in Progress
Level: 26 (30,000/60,000/60,000) Entries: 4/226 Prizes: $212,553 Day 3 of the Main Event is about to start, but the final four players are discussing an ICM chop (with some money and the trophy left to play for). I’ll update the numbers once I get the details.
-
Four Bags for the Main
Level: 25 (25,000/50,000/50,000) Entries: 4/226 Prizes: $212,553 There are still four players remaining at the end of Level 25 and the chips are bagged with players back at 1pm Monday to finish it out. Vancouver’s Kevin Lee has the lead right now but it’s pretty close.

Level: 22 (15,000/25,000/25,000) Entries: 5/226 Prizes: $212,553 Tim Arnold It was a bit of a cooler on the flop that sent start-of-day leader Tim Arnold to the rail in 6th place. Ed Zurawell raised the button to 50k and Arnold came along from the small blind.
It all kicked off on the 9♥10♣J♣ flop when Arnold bet 80k, then snapped it off when Zurawell shoved a covering stack. Arnold flopped two pair with ten-jack, but Zurawell was on a set of nines. Arnold couldn’t find the cards he needed and hit the rail in 6th place today.
