The fan favorite Phil Ivey has once again showcased his poker mastery, bagging his fifth Triton title at the $25,000 Short Deck Turbo event, his second at the 2023 Triton London series.
This win propels Ivey to second place on the all-time champions list, with only Jason Koon now ahead of him, who recently won his ninth title. Expressing his enduring love for the game, Ivey shared in the winner’s interview: “I love the game of poker, I always have. Hopefully, I’ll get a few more.”
It might have been a smaller event for Triton’s standard, with 33 entries and the entire event played in one day, but no one is going to turn down the $280,500 first-place prize.
Notable moments included Anson Ewe squeezing into the money with 9 antes left, only to be outdone by Ivey’s pocket kings in a three-way all-in, and Ivey continuing his streak to ultimately outplay Stephen Chidwick. The duel with Danny Tang was swift, given Ivey’s 144 antes to Tang’s 21, wrapping up the tournament in style
.

Full of high-stakes action, Triton was graced by poker superstars, thrilling moments, and monumental victories. It was another top-notch series that has firmly cemented Triton’s reputation in the poker world.
