WPT Will Host a $25,000 Heads-Up Championship With Poker Biggest Names

Since the heads-up game has experienced a real renaissance in the last year, the World Poker Tour decided to take advantage of this trend and have announced their very own Heads-Up Championship in next month for just 32 players, including some of the biggest names in the world of poker.

Although the WPT didn’t release any detailed information yet, it is known that tournament is scheduled from June 18-22. As already mentioned, there will be room for only 32 competitors, who will have to dig deep into their pockets to perform, as the entry fee for this tournament will be as much as $25,000!

Winning this tournament may not have the same weight as winning the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship years ago, but it will resonate throughout poker, at least thanks to the players who need to be defeated on the way to the title. Poker royalty such as Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Nick Schulman and Brad Owen have already confirmed their participation in the tournament, and many other stars will surely join them at the table, which will not want to miss this opportunity to show their heads-up skills.

The entire tournament will be available to watch live on Twitch and YouTube.
